Kathmandu, November 20. Nepal Oil Corporation has some good news for people, who haven’t gotten petrol even after waiting in serpentine queues for hours or days on end.
Within a week, the state-run oil monopoly plans to provide oil for private vehicles, in the Kathmandu Valley.
With the stock of petrol augmented at its Thankot depot after the entry of Chinese oil grant to the country, NOC is making preparations to distribute oil (to private vehicles), NOC Executive Director Gopal Bahadur Khadka shared with Online Khabar.
Homework for oil distribution is underway, Khadka said, adding that they are yet to set the exact date. This time, NOC will distribute petrol for four straight days, he said.
Because of ill-managed lines, a huge number of private vehicles had failed to get petrol during a previous instance. This time, NOC will distribute petrol to bikes and cars/jeeps will by arranging separate lines for them, according to Khadka.
NOC also plans to provide fuel for schools’ and colleges’ vehicles as well as goods carriers.
Before Dashain and Tihar, NOC had distributed fuel to private vehicles on two occasions.
