High-level mechanism, Madhesi parties holding talks today

Kathmandu, November 16. The high-level political mechanism, an apex body formed to guide the government, is holding talks with the United Democratic Madheshi Front, in Kathmandu, on Sunday. The talks are scheduled for 3 pm.

Before the talks with the front, the mechanism will hold a meeting to come up with its concerted stance. The ruling parties are making preparations to involve the main opposition Nepali Congress in the talks. Congress office-bearers are holding a meeting to work out issues they plan to raise at the meeting.

During a meeting on Saturday, the Congress had asked UDMF to help with the endorsement of the constitution amendment proposal through the Parliament. On its part, UDMF leaders said the problem will remain unless there’s resolution of issues related to province delineation.
