Football star David Beckham showed glimpses of his soccer skills in Bhaktapur on Friday. In a brick courtyard of Nyatpol temple outside Bhaktapur Darbar Square, he played football with students from Padma Higher Secondary School of Bhaktapur for almost 20 minutes.
Former England captain arrived in Kathmandu on a chartered flight on Friday, and he is scheduled to return on Saturday.
Beckham’s Nepal visit is part of his global project to mark his 10 years of association with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as a goodwill ambassador. He started his campaign, which aims to raise awareness and fund for UNICEF, from Papua New Guinea. He is visiting seven different countries in seven different continents as part of the project.
Beckham’s global tour is also being recorded by BBC for a documentary.
