Kathmandu, November 18. The Mohan Baidhya-led CPN Maoist (Revolutionary) has announced a movement against the undeclared blockade.
Wednesday’s meeting of the party’s Central Secretariat decided to stage the movement against the embargo, fuel crisis, price rise and black marketing, raising issues related to nationality, livelihoods and people’s democracy, the party said in a press release.
The party will submit a memorandum to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on November 23 and stage a sit-in outside the embassy premises at 2-3 pm that day. While on November 25, it will submit a protest letter to the Prime Minister’s Office and stage a sit-in in front of Singha Durbar from 1 pm till 3 pm. And on November 25, the party plans to stage protests in major cities and other parts of the country.
The party said it will announce second round of its struggle on completion of the first round. It has appealed truly patriotic, pro-people and leftist forces for a joint struggle against the blockade.
The meeting also decided to do the needful for pushing ahead the process for integration and polarisation of Maoist forces, the press release stated.
The next meeting of the party’s central secretariat will also set the date for the party’s general convention.
