BUSINESSMAN MITTAL’S MURDERERS SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT



KAPILVASTU, Nov 20: Kapilvastu District Court on Thursday sentenced three persons to life imprisonment for their involvement in the murder of businessman Shyam Sundar Mittal of Krishnanagar.  
The convicts are Satish Kumar Kasaul, Krishna Kandu and Suryanath Mishra aka Malinga of Taulihawa. According to the court’s registrar Ishwari Bhandari, the district court has handed 20 years’ imprisonment under the life sentence to the convicts for their involvement in the murder and an additional six years for robbery.
The three convicts have also been fined with Rs 93,000 each. A single bench of Judge Harish Chandra Dhungana issued the verdict.

Similarly, a fourth convict Bablu Maurya, 13, has been charged with 23-year jail term and a fine of Rs 46,500, according the court registrar Bhandari.

The mastermind of the case Bijay Chaudhary and his wife Bindabasini are still at large. The court has also issued an order to them.

Earlier in September 2014, the body of textile trader Shyam Sundar Mittal was found in a septic tank at Jamuwartol in Kapilvastu-5 after 45 days of his abduction.

Police investigations revealed that Mittal was murdered by the abductors after his family failed to pay ransom to the abductors.
