Nov 16, 2015- All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Ganesh Thapa has said that the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA)’s decision to ban him for 10 years is ‘unjust’.
Saying that he has been saddened by FIFA’s decision, Thapa stated that he had been assisting the international football governing body in its investigations for the past four years.
“FIFA should clarify its decision to ban me. I will follow the due process in order to prove my innocence once I get the details,” said Thapa in a statement issued today. “I will move to court against FIFA if need be.”
The ethics committee at FIFA banned ANFA President Ganesh Thapa from football activities at both national and international level on Monday. The committee has slapped a fine of 20,000 Swiss francs (Rs 20.97 million).
