SSB men enter Nepali territory, beat 13-year-old

Kanchanpur, November 18. In what appears to be yet another atrocious act of India’s Seema Sashastra Bal against Nepalis living close to the border with India, SSB personnel allegedly beat a 13-year-old mercilessly on the Nepali territory close to the border pillar number 15, at Kanchanpur district, at 8.30 pm on Sunday.  They allegedly thrashed Bishal Sarki, son of Birbal Sarki of Kanchan Bhoj, Dodhara Chandani municipality, when he was returning home on a scooty, according to local people. The child has suffered serious head injuries and his body bears injury marks.
SSB had entered the Nepali territory and caned Bishal when he was returning from his friend’s birthday party to fetch a sweater as it was pretty cold, according to the eyewitnesses.
The injured said: We were going home on the scooty. All of a sudden, they (SSB personnel) started beating me with sticks and I fainted.
The security personnel also vandalised the scooty bearing the Indian number plate UK 06 Z 326, according to the boy’s family.
After the SSB act, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel inspected the scene and collected information. Later, a team comprising locals, NP and APF personnel went to SSB’s Jhyappujhala Post and discussed the incident with the post chief. However, sub-inspector at the post, Chire Bengel, said his jawans were not on the scene when the incident took place, adding that they are ready to foot medical bills on humanitarian grounds.
