Kathmandu, November 12. In a bid to deal with an acute shortage of cooking gas resulting from the Indian blockade, the KP Oli government brought six truckloads of firewood for sale in Kathmandu, on Thursday. However, it will start selling fuelwood brought from the Tarai from Sunday.
Earlier, the government said it will distribute fuelwood from Friday. The Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation said it had to alter the plan due to the absence of employees at (Timber Corporation of Nepal) depots on account of Tihar.
Each family will get 100 kg firewood for Rs 17/kg.
TCN will sell Sal firewood from its depots in Balkumari and Pashupati depots.
